The Sohimi Hiver 5-in-1 Automatic Thrusting & Sucking Male Masturbator does a lot! It is a multifunctional stroker that combines thrusting, suction, vibration, rotation, and app control. It is positioned as a high-tech option for users seeking variety and automation in a single device. Sohimi reached out to us this summer and offered this toy in exchange for a detailed review. We were grateful for the opportunity, and a few weeks later, received a package with this toy and their 4-in-1 Tongue toy as well.
This review examines the Hiver’s design, functionality, performance, usability, and maintenance based on hands-on experience. The goal is to provide a clear perspective on what it delivers, where it performs well, and where it may have limitations.
The masturbator arrived well packaged in a non-discript cardboard box. The toy itself came in a fitted black box and on opening, found the toy wrapped in a protective foam. There wee a couple of dings on the exterior box, but no damage to the toy. Included was an instruction manual and charging cord. No wasted space or excessive packaging, sustainability win!
The Hiver is a mid-sized automatic masturbator with a cylindrical profile and in my case a green-and-clear color scheme. The website shows black, I got green, but there doesn't appear to be any functional differences. Measuring close to 10 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter, it is larger than a manual stroker but still compact enough to store discreetly.
The digital display panel on the front is a standout feature. It provides visual confirmation of modes, intensity levels, and battery status, which simplifies navigation compared to devices with only indicator lights. When connected to the Joyhub app, the display panel will show the mode changes in real time.
Internally, the sleeve is made from body-safe TPE. It offers a soft, flexible feel with moderate ribbing to enhance stimulation. While comfortable, TPE is a porous material and requires careful maintenance to ensure long-term hygiene. The sleeve is removable for cleaning, which helps with upkeep. The device’s outer shell is ABS plastic, giving it a sturdy but utilitarian build. It is not as refined as premium brands, but it still feels very solid. I quite enjoy the transparent materials that were used. It's an interesting experience watching how everything happens as it works its magic. Growing up with coloured and transparent plastic everything, its a bit of nostalgia I wish we would see more of.
The Hiver’s “5-in-1” designation refers to the following functions. This information is from the Sohimi website, and while I don't have a way to count RPMs, i can confirm that the motor spins and thrusts quite quickly
Thrusting: Capable of up to 120 strokes per minute, providing a dynamic, hands-free experience that simulates partnered motion.
Suction: Adjustable vacuum strength creates a pulsing grip effect designed to mimic oral stimulation.
Vibration: Several vibration speeds and intensities add an additional layer of stimulation.
Rotation: The sleeve rotates internally, providing a different sensation compared to linear-only devices.
App Control: A companion app allows remote operation, custom pattern creation, and potentially long-distance use with a partner.
These functions can be used in combination, giving the Hiver more variety than single-feature strokers at a significantly lower cost. The integration of thrusting and rotation is especially notable, as it produces a distinct type of stimulation compared to standard piston-style toys.
During testing, the suction was the defining feature for me. I found myself on occasion removing the inner sleeve and using the device as an automatic suction pump. With the extended battery life and lower power than a dedicated penis pump, I was able to use it for extended periods during edging sessions. It took only a few seconds to reinstall the inner sleeve when I chose to finish the session.
The suction function adds realism, particularly when paired with thrusting. The pulsing draw creates noticeable pressure changes that complement the inner canal texture. It is not as strong as high-end vacuum-based products but performs effectively at this price level.
I found that the vibration acts more as a background effect than a primary function. The motor produces steady stimulation but lacks the power of dedicated vibrators. You notice that it's there, but it's more of a nice to have than a defining feature.
Rotation provides a unique sensation, particularly when combined with thrusting. It will spin in forward and reverse, only bogging down when all of the toys features are used at once. I found the battery still lasted quite a long time with all features maxed out, so I imagine this is due to the onboard battery's amp rating or limitations of the controller. It's not a deal breaker, but for those with larger members, it may bog down on you without a lot of lube.
The app offers control over settings, which worked reliably during testing. It is best suited for users who enjoy experimenting with patterns or want remote partner interaction. That said, operation through the onboard buttons is straightforward for those who prefer not to use a smartphone. I will have a dedicated review of the Joyhub app here Joyhub App
Battery performance averaged about 60–70 minutes per charge, with a full recharge taking around 2 hours. This is consistent with other multi-motor devices in the mid-range category.
The Hiver is relatively easy to use once you get familiar with the button layout and display. The digital screen makes it clear which function is active, which reduces guesswork. In the heat of the moment, simplicity is key.
The device can be operated hands-free if placed on a flat surface, though stability depends on positioning. In handheld use, its weight is noticeable but not excessive. I found good luck holding the device between my legs and letting it do its thing. If the suction is turned on, it has enough power to hold on to you to simulate a milking experience.
We found the noise is low to moderate. The suction and thrusting motors produce a mechanical hum that is not silent but can be masked easily with some background music or a TV on in the background.
The sleeve texture is soft and is on par with other premium silicone-based alternatives but still provides a good balance of tightness and flexibility. With lubrication, the internal canal delivers consistent stimulation, especially when combined with suction and vibration. Each suction pulse causes blood to flow into the penis, and the vibration work well here.
The removable TPE sleeve is washable with warm water and mild soap. Users should avoid silicone- or oil-based lubricants, as they can degrade the material.
Because TPE is porous, thorough drying is essential. Using a lint-free cloth and leaving the sleeve in a ventilated space helps prevent trapped moisture. Lightly dusting with renewal powder or cornstarch keeps the surface smooth between uses.
The outer shell wipes clean easily with a damp cloth. Cleaning is straightforward, though drying time is longer than with non-porous silicone sleeves. Keep in mind that around the base of the removable cylindar is another TPE orriface that needs to be cleaned as well.

Five distinct functions in one device (thrusting, suction, vibration, rotation, app control)
Digital display for easy navigation
Removable sleeve for cleaning
Hands-free capability with proper setup
Competitive price point for the feature set
Sleeve made of TPE, requiring extra care
Noise level noticeable at higher intensities
Vibration weaker than other functions
Bulkier design than manual strokers
Long-term durability uncertain due to multiple motors
The Sohimi Hiver 5-in-1 Automatic Thrusting & Sucking Male Masturbator delivers a wide range of different sensations for the user. Its combination of thrusting, suction, and rotation offers more variety than most strokers in its category, while the digital display and app control add modern usability. This is especially true for the sum $200CAD toy lineups out there.
If you want something fun, that fits in your night stand, is easy to charge (All Hale USB-C), and won't break the bank, give this toy a first and second look.
